20903 Antihopping slipper clutch GSF1200 Bandit – mounting
Congratulations, you bought one of best clutch systems for
your Bandit 1200.
This clutch should be installed by an experienced Suzuki
workshop, or mechanic.
these instructions with photos before you start. Check if the set includes
the old clutch ( according Suzuki workshop manual ), clean the threads on
the shaft and big nut of old glue with brake cleaner.
shim ( STD ) between basket and drum, when you remounted it ( pic.a ).
pre mounted slipper drum ( pic.b ).
kit steel washer ( pic.c ).
the big nut ( STD ) with torque 127
Nm and secure it with glue Loctite No. 620 (RED) ( pic. d,e )
slipper clutch is designed to use the original clutch plates. In the standard clutch plate set there are
thin steel rings ( judder rings ) (
pic. f ). NEVER mount them as the first plate ( from case). Mount a normal
friction plate first, then a steel plate, and then the thinner friction
plate with steel rings. The remaining plates mount as the standard ones
do. ( pic.g ).
the push pin with axial bearing and steel washer as original ( pic.h ).
pressure plate ( pic.i ).
clutch springs ( from kit, or OEM GSXR1000 K5 ) , install spring kit-retainers
, tighten all with M5 bolts with torque 8 Nm.
Check for the correct clearance
between pressure plate and clutch hub via the small holes in the pressure plate.
Correct clearance is about1.2 mm. Minimal clearance is 0,6 mm. When the clutch
plates wear to this thickness, replace all friction plates with new ones.
time use new clutch cover gasket.

in case you have strong tuned up engine, the clutch may
slip under acceleration. Use the shorter KIT spring retainers for more preload
in case, you prefer more engine backtorque, use kit
spring retainers for more preload
