16503 Antihopping clutch kit CBR954RR - mounting instructions

Congratulation, you bought one of the best clutch systems for your CBR954RR.

This clutch should be installed by an experienced Honda service center, or an experienced mechanic.

1. Read this instruction with photos before you start. Check if the kit includes all parts.
2. Remove the old clutch (according to the Honda workshop manual), clean the threads on the shaft from old glue perfectly. Clean these parts with brake cleaner.
3. Check positioning of clutch drum with oil pump driven gear. Put shim ( STD ) between basket and drum, when you replace it.
4. Check, that the steel balls are in their pockets. Don´t change the orientation of both clutch drum parts. Be careful that the balls do not fall out of the clutch and into the engine ( pic.a )
5. Install the clutch unit on the gearbox input shaft.
6. The kit includes small parts for mounting. Mount standard washer ( pic. B ), spider spring ( pic. C ) and main nut ( pic. D) . Nut torque moment is 120 Nm ( pic. E ), use Loctite No. 620 (RED) to secure.
7. Install clutch plates. This kit is designed for STD clutch plates. All plates mount to position as usual ( pic. F ) We suggest using a normal friction plate in the first position, and the special friction plate with the judder springs as the second friction plate.
8. Mount the pressure plate with pull-rod ( pic. G,H ) . Install clutch springs with kit retainers and M6x25 kit bolts ( pic.I ).
9. Check the clearance between pressure plate and clutch hub via the small holes in the pressure plate. The correct clearance is about1,0 mm. When the clearance is reduced by plate wear to 0,4mm, change all friction plates to new ones.
10. If you use aftermarket friction plates, you can reach the correct clearance by using a

suitable combination of following steel plates:

11. Install clutch cover according Honda workshop manual, adjust clutch cable and go back to track.
