17503 Antihopping slipper clutch CRF450X – mounting instructions

Congratulations, you bought one of best clutch systems for your CRF450X.

This clutch should be installed by an experienced Honda workshop, or mechanic.

1. Read this instructions with photos before you start. Check if the set includes all parts.
2. Remove the old clutch drum ( according Honda workshop manual ), clean the threads on the shaft and big nut from old glue with brake cleaner.
3. Put shim ( STD ) between basket and drum, when you replace it.
4. Install the pre mounted slipper drum.
5. Put the STD steel washer on shaft.
6. Tighten the big nut ( STD ) with torque 80Nm and secure it with Loctite No. 620. (RED)
7. This slipper clutch is designed for using STD clutch plates. Mount them in usual position.
8. Install the pressure plate.
9. Put STD clutch springs in position as before, put spring kit-retainers, Tighten all with M6 bolts.

Check the clearance between the pressure plate and the clutch hub via the small holes in the pressure plate. Minimum clearance is 0.3 mm.

10. Every time use new clutch cover gasket.
11. Mount case cover according to Honda workshop manual.
